I need YOUR help! I couldn't decide which dress to bring to NYC for the summer, so I'm asking YOU to decide! Here are my thoughts: Black dress may attract less negative attention and be more versatile for different occasion, BUT the Pink dress is more trendy and noticeable.... for better or worse. Thoughts???
**Both are strapless, but the pink dress is about 2 inches longer than the black dress.
Let me know what you think! I'll check comments throughout the day :)
Thank you!
Dylan

when in doubt, always go with black,or something neutral. Pink is too much for some occasions. If you're going to work in the fashion industry you should know that. Trendy doesn't mean it's gonna last. Black on the other hand is always a classy choise ;)
ReplyDeletei like the black one
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree - black is the better choice!
ReplyDelete:)
Go for versatility. You can always wear colorful, trendy accessories.
ReplyDeleteBlack!
ReplyDeleteI think the black one is a little cheap looking. The pink one has a more flattering fit in your chest area, and if it's longer, then I bet it looks a little more professional. The black one is a little on the short side too. I'd say the pink regarding fit and overall style, but I wouldn't recommend the color of the dress in particular. When looking at these two photos though, the pink one, no doubt. We both know you actually want to wear the pink one, because why else would you want to wear something besides the LBD? Just wear the pink one and own it. You'll look fabulous.

ReplyDeleteAs a life-long New Yorker, I think the black one looks more chic and put together... You'll notice we wear A LOT of black here. :)
ReplyDeleteIs it for a specific event? The pink one would be cute and fun and flirty for going out, but if it's for a work-related event, I'd say go with the black and dress it up with bright heels or a clutch...
If you're going to an internship for NYC I suggest buying a new Little Black Dress, something with structure and fit. While both of these are cute I think they are just a little to young for the New York Fashion world.
ReplyDeleteTreat yourself to something new, and celebrate your internship.
I'd say black. It would go with everything.
ReplyDeleteBlack, as you said far more versatile and can easily be dressed down or up
ReplyDeleteBlack. Far more mature, timeless and sexy.
ReplyDeleteI think black as well. The pink looks too homecoming dance for me.
ReplyDeletei like the pink, its super cute!
ReplyDeleteGo with the black, definitely. It can be worn at a variety of different events. Go with what others have said and use some colorful accessories to liven it up :)
ReplyDeletePink. Make a statement :)
ReplyDeleteBlack, it's versatile and classy :)
ReplyDeleteGo with the black dress.
ReplyDeleteThe pink one.
ReplyDeleteAnd please note I'm over 60 & made the comment about a strapless wedding dress being a no-no!
pink is hot&cute,black is hot&sexy.
ReplyDeletei prefer hot and cute sooooo...;)
here is the ultimate solution: bring both and shop for a new dress while you are in New York. I think a trendier black dress would solve the professional vs. trendy problem. Maybe a one shoulder dress made out of a more structured fabric. The pink one is really cute on you, the black looks classy but a little .
ReplyDeletei am almost always drawn to classic black dresses over any other color, but i have to say, i definitely prefer the pink one on you. the cut is much more flattering and looks more modern. the color also suits you, and it's a fun summer dress. somehow the bright pink makes you look more sophisticated than the black dress, so i'd say go for that one! you look gorgeous in it.
ReplyDeleteIf the pink dress was black I would say to wear that one. The style is more flattering and trendy than the black dress. But black is definitely the color to wear, especially in the fashion industry.
ReplyDeleteforever 21?
ReplyDeletedefinitely black!!
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong with a LBD different accessories can change the whole look. (Btw, I just found your blog and I love it within the first 5 mins)
ReplyDeleteWhen in Rome, do as the Romans do. Wear black in NYC. Plus, it's very cute!
ReplyDeleteDeffinatly go with the black one....but pair it with a pair of platform heels/stilletos instead of the pair in the picture and a statement clutch :)
ReplyDeleteTake the black dress but wear it with a pair of attention getting shoes. I tried it the other day and people went crazy!
ReplyDeleteBest of Luck!

I'd say go with the black, way more versatile in my opinion. But my question is, why can't you bring both?
ReplyDeleteBlack Black Black. Always. :)
ReplyDeleteBlack.
ReplyDeleteBlack. No question.
ReplyDeleteBlack w/ colored shoes!
ReplyDeleteI think the pink one for sure! But no belt...or maybe a different thinner belt!!!
ReplyDeleteBlack. Much more options for shoes, bags, makeup etc. You'll limit yourself with the pink one and it is too high school dance.
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt the black one. I live in NY and the point is to not let the outfit steal the attention from you. Also the pink is a little ...... for lack of a better word, loud. Also It will be hard to match your accessories with the pink because it may end up clashing or looking a bit 1980s. Where as the black focuses the attention on you and you could match it with bold colored shoes if you want a little something extra to pop and get you noticed.
ReplyDeleteTake both, where the black one for the internship and the pink one when you're doing fun stuff.
ReplyDeletepink all the way...i can't believe how many people are recommending the black! it looks like something from the macy's discount prom rack (sorry). Go for a new black dress...you definitely need one. You look great in the pink, it is precious!
ReplyDeletePINK!!!!!!!!! It is flirty and fun!! The pink one is adorble, plus, you dont have to worry about it being to short!! I think the black is to formal, the pink dress you can actully have fun in!!!!!!!!!
