2. Always lock your car door. For me, I was driving around with a flat screen TV in my car for about 2 weeks. I'd say I was a pretty good target for break-ins. Luckily, I got that out of my car today.
3. Never pack more than necessary. When in London for 4 months, I only brought 1 pair of jeans, 8 tops, 3 skirts, 5 dresses, and 4 pairs of shoes. And, no, I did not wear dirty clothes.
5. Be the best guest. Offer to cook, clean, and take out the trash for whoever you stay with.
6. Keep your favorite foods on hand. They will help you feel more secure and stable, no matter where you are or whose couch you are sleeping on.
7. Have a miniature closet. Always have a duffle bag with a few tops and bottoms that you can easily get to for a quick change of clothes.
8. Always do your hair and make up. You will feel more put-together instantly.
9. Use nice bath soaps. They will make you feel extra clean and in order.
10. If all else fails, head to the nearest Hilton...
GYPSY LOVE,
Dylan
I love your tips so much! They're making me feel more prepared for my move to London - thank you! Keep having fun :D
ReplyDeleteI'll be going through a gypsy stage in a few weeks myself. Great tips. I love your blog.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, "gypsy" is considered a derogatory term. You shouldn't equate yourself with a widely oppressed people who have suffered years of political and economic persecution just because you've been traveling recently. Also, the tornado post is pretty insensitive to the people who might have actually lost loved ones over the past few days. Don't trivialize other people's suffering.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely with the other anonymous. I don't know you but you seem blithely unaware.
ReplyDeleteThis post is perfect for me. I will be leaving at the end of this month to go to work at a summer camp and after camp i will be moving straight to my apartment and won't be able to stop back home. Everything will be in my car for about 3 months. I am going to have to pack smart, so i don't have to mess everything up looking for a toothbrush.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I look forward to hearing how it all goes! :)
ReplyDeleteEchoing the other anon comments.
ReplyDeleteIt's offensive to throw around the term "gypsy" like that, and then on top of that imply that they are not "classy".
I like your blog, but this is the 2nd racist post I have read so far.
If you had ever lived in a country with actual gypsies, you would know the term is not really offensive, it just describes a lifestyle. Saying its offensive is like implying that saying someone is Mexican is offensive... if they are from Mexico they are Mexican, if they have no permanent residence, they are gypsies. get a life anonymous.
